THE MOUNTAINS OF THE BELLINGEN VALLEY.
The YAAN : I’ve been thinking about this for a few weeks. Tossing up between the MOUNTAINS (which wrap around our valley on the West) and MORGO STREET (which is a very particular street in URUNGA). The Mountains are the most tempting because they are hauntingly beautiful and can be seen from various angles throughout the Bellingen Valley BUT I have decided to tackle MORGO STREET. I have no idea where the name Morgo comes from despite many years of searching for its origin. It runs from the Urunga Golf Club in the North along the waterfront, past the Pub and the Caravan Park, the Museum and the C.W.A. rooms, up the hill past the Pilot House and Dr Dunn’s old place, down past the sports ovals and the houses on the lagoon and out of town to Hungry Head Beach. Not sure what images I have of MORGO STREET but I am going looking now. The shot up the top is a random one of the Mountains – a kind of apology to them for not featuring them in all their ancient wisdom and steadfastness.
NOW FOR MORGO STREET.
THE URUNGA MUSEUM.
The units are called TAMBAR COURT. My folks lived up there in the top unit.Next door is the supermarket.
